Dewdrops

Caressing the cheek of the petal,
Dewdrops slid down the stem.
‘The thorns hurt,’ they said.
The Sun then rose,
and decided their life had to end.
The Rays Dried away the drops
Their patchy path, the only remaining scar
Of a journey willingly given up.
